OK faithful readers, help me out...
I was sent this by a friend of mine. I know what I see, and I can't change the direction. What do you see?
The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise (counter-clockwise for us Americans)?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.
LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses logic detail oriented facts rule words and language present and past math and science can comprehend knowing acknowledges order/pattern perception knows object name reality based forms strategies practical safe | RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses feeling "big picture" oriented imagination rules symbols and images present and future philosophy & religion can "get it" (i.e. meaning) believes appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based presents possibilities impetuous risk taking |

Hey Roger. Checked it out. It was trippy. I saw it going clockwise and I couldn't see it any other way. And here I was thinking I was logical... ;-)
I think that most things like this are ridiculous pseudo-science at best and that you shouldn't put any more faith in them than in anything else you see/read/hear on the internet. Just my 2 cents.
I was checking this out a while back. As rob says, it isn't very good science, however, I figured out a way to get it to appear to rotate the other direction.
Look at it out of the corner of your eye. As long as you are not perceiving all the visual cues that make it obvious that the figure is spinning clockwise it will switch directions... maybe.
Uhhh, did anyone else notice if you refresh the page several times it will eventually change the direction it spins.

Drew, are you referring to the picture that opens? That is an animated GIF. You can hit refresh until you are blue in the face and it will continue being the same picture. You must have switched the direction with your brain/perception. CONGRATS!
I can get her to change directions at will.
I can also get her to bend over, and she can do this amazing thing with her head.
